Asbestos Abatement  Management

List of Services

Serving Western Canada since 2002.

Mould Testing

Dealing With Asbestos

Once asbestos has been identified, tested  and assessed, and abatement or control has been deemed necessary, then an abatement specification or scope of work will be needed.

The specification will clearly lay out what is to be done and how. This document will be used as the contract with the contractor to reduce the risk of the job not being done appropriately or additional costs being added.

Once abatement work starts RH Services Inc. can assist with daily inspection and air monitoring as required by Legislation.

Removing the Risk

The asbestos abatement industry in the province of Alberta is highly regulated. The Alberta Asbestos Abatement Manual is the main reference document.

When a building or facility with asbestos containing materials is to be renovated, upgraded or  demolished then RH Services Inc.  will monitor compliance to the specifications, measure fibre concentrations in the work area and adjacent areas, check the integrity of the containment area and provide daily reports.

For remote sites we offer on-site fibre counting and for demolition projects, we provide clearance letters to assist you in obtaining permits.

For asbestos containing materials that remain in a building, an asbestos operations & management plan is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I require an asbestos ticket to remove asbestos?

An employer must ensure that a worker who enters a 'restricted' area due to the presence of asbestos, has successfully completed an asbestos worker course. This includes all moderate and high risk work.

Q: Where can I dispose of asbestos waste?

Asbestos must be disposed of at a landfill site that accepts asbestos waste.  All asbestos must be packaged and transported in accordance with regulations.

Q: Do I need a Consultant for my asbestos project?

The short answer is yes.  The right consultant can steer you away from pit-falls and save you money.
